La TROVÉE was built on a simple frustration: the same 100ml bottle of a luxury fragrance can vary by $40 or more depending on where you buy it — and most people never know. We built the price comparison engine we wished existed.

Today La TROVÉE tracks over 2,000 fragrances across 15+ retailers, updating prices daily so you always see the real market rate. Alongside price comparison, our Scent Agent AI matches you with affordable dupes that genuinely smell like the fragrance you love — ranked by note-vector similarity and community blind-buy confidence.

We believe fine fragrance shouldn’t require paying a luxury premium at every retailer. The best price is out there. We help you find it.

Methodology

How our price data works.

La TROVÉE pulls price data from retailer product feeds, affiliate networks, and direct API integrations. Prices are refreshed at least once every 24 hours for in-stock listings, and within 2 hours for flagged deals.

Every price is stamped with a “last updated” timestamp visible in the price comparison table. We display prices as fetched — we do not editorially adjust them. If a price looks unusual, always verify at the retailer before purchasing.

We track prices for the same fragrance in multiple bottle sizes (30ml, 50ml, 100ml) and calculate a price-per-millilitre figure so you can make a true apples-to-apples comparison.

Technology

Scent Agent — our AI dupe finder.

Scent Agent is La TROVÉE’s AI-powered matching engine. It encodes each fragrance as a high-dimensional vector of note accords — weighted by concentration, family, and typical development on skin — and uses cosine similarity to rank affordable alternatives.

Blind buy confidence scores draw on thousands of community reviews, filtered for verified purchases, to estimate how likely you are to be satisfied with a fragrance you’ve never smelled. A 5-star score is our highest recommendation.

Scent Agent results are advisory only. Fragrance is subjective and individual skin chemistry affects how a scent develops. We always recommend sampling before committing to a full bottle.
